PokeBonk: Play Online Free, Guide & Tips
Updated · Game version checked: PokéBonk 0.8.10 (Season 2)
PokeBonk (official spelling: PokéBonk) is a free, unofficial 3D survivors-like fan game that runs in your browser. You pick a Pokémon partner, survive hordes of wild Pokémon while your moves attack automatically, level up, evolve mid-run and catch new Pokémon for your League. No download is needed.
Mouse camera, saving and sign-in work best on the official site. On phones, open it there and turn your phone sideways.
What is PokeBonk?
PokeBonk is a browser game made by the developer Charcher (@ImCharcher on X). He announced it on October 14, 2026 as a 3D Pokémon survivors-like strongly inspired by Megabonk, especially Megabonk's vertical 3D maps, mixed with familiar Pokémon systems. After a short invite-only beta, it opened to everyone on October 15, 2026.
- Genre: survivors-like / bullet heaven roguelite in 3D.
- Pokémon: the site advertises all 151 Kanto Pokémon; 79 of them are League Pokémon you can play as.
- Price: free. The developer calls it a non-profit fan project.
- Platform: any modern browser with WebGL, on PC, Mac, Android or iPhone.
- Languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean and Russian.
- Seasons: leaderboards reset each season. Season 2 runs from October 21 to November 4, 2026.
How to play PokeBonk
- Start as a guest or make an account. Guests can play right away but do not appear on leaderboards.
- Choose your partner. New players pick one of the three Kanto starters: Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle. Not sure? See the starter comparison in our tier list.
- Pick a mode and region. Classic is the best place to start: Viridian Forest is the first region.
- Move and survive. Your moves fire on their own. You steer, jump, slide away from big attacks and collect experience.
- Choose upgrades on level-up. Each level-up offers cards: a new move, an upgrade to a move you have, or a vitamin (stat boost).
- Open Poké Balls and find the guardian. Poké Balls on the map hold items. Each Classic zone ends with a guardian; beating it opens the portal to the next zone.
- Use your Ultimate. It charges as you fight. Press R (or tap its button) when it is ready.
Our PokeBonk beginner guide explains each step in more detail, including evolutions, catching Pokémon, the Lab and Stardust.

Game modes and maps
Classic
Pick a Pokémon from your League and a region and clear it. A region has three zones; each zone ends with a guardian that you wake at its altar, and defeating it opens the portal onward. Difficulty tiers include Normal, Hard and Nightmare; you unlock a harder tier by winning on the one before it in that region.
Survival
Endless hordes with milestones. Survival is ranked by time survived (KOs break ties) and has its own leaderboard. Since patch 0.8.5, after the first hour the horde keeps speeding up so no build can survive forever.
Lavender Tower (Halloween event)
A limited-time mode during Season 2: climb seven floors of the Pokémon Tower, with three waves per floor, then endless "Beyond" floors. It ends on November 4, 2026. Details are in our Season 2 guide.
Maps
Season 2 has four regions: Viridian Forest, Rocky Desert, Storm Coast (unlocked by completing Rocky Desert) and Celestial Glacier (unlocked by completing Storm Coast). There is also a time-attack leaderboard for the fastest win in each region.
