Best class for a first run: Warrior (Fury / Bladestorm) or Paladin (Protection / Hammer of the Righteous) — free AoE or shields from talent text. S tier is those two. A tier packs Shaman Elemental, Hunter Beast Mastery, Warlock Demonology, Rogue Combat, and Druid Dire Bear for pack clear, pets, or sustain. B tier is Mage Frost (glass cannon with a Water Elemental) and Priest Shadow (Discipline if you keep dying). No published win rates.

Tiers follow the same SurvivorsDB reads used on our builds and classes pages: English class blurbs and talent milestone/capstone strings (Oct 23–27, 2026; live game ~v0.120.5 at wow.aethus.pl). Alpha balance moves between builds; a low tier does not mean unplayable once you know the zones.

Why each class sits where it does

S — Safest first-run

Warrior (Fury · Bladestorm): Free Whirlwinds and Flurry doubles; least aiming. The editorial first-run pick with Paladin.
Paladin (Protection · Hammer of the Righteous): Starts on Hammer of Justice, free Consecrations, shields and a death-save. Easiest zone learner.

A — Strong packs / pets / sustain

Shaman (Elemental · Elemental Mastery): Chain Lightning from the start, a second every 3 sec, jumps that lose no damage. Built for big packs.
Hunter (Beast Mastery · Bestial Wrath): Wolf then raptor; bites fire free Multi-Shots. Pets fight while you kite.
Warlock (Demonology · Butcher): Permanent Imp, Legion Gate floods, Felguard cleave. Demons pack while curses tick.
Rogue (Combat · Killing Spree): Blade Flurry and free Sinister Strikes fix crowd clear; still fragile — position carefully.
Druid (Feral Combat · Dire Bear Form): Extra health, less damage taken, free Swipes and heal-on-hit. Cat Form is the damage swap later.

B — High damage, less forgiving

Mage (Frost · Summon Water Elemental): Class text calls Mage a glass cannon. Frost adds a Water Elemental, free Frost Nova, and freezes — better than raw Fireball, still thin HP. See Mage Frost build below.
Priest (Shadow · Shadowform): Shadow Word: Pain from the start and free Mind Blasts. If you keep dying, Discipline is the safer tree.

Best Mage build (Frost)

Search demand for a Mage build is real; the honest placement is B, not S. The class blurb calls Mage a glass cannon with the biggest area damage and little to hide behind. Our editorial route is still Frost → Summon Water Elemental: you start on Frostbolt instead of Fireball, keep a Water Elemental, and get a free Frost Nova every 8 sec, with Frostbite freezes and Splitting Ice splash.
